gO BACK AND GET IT

There was trouble at the Asante court, none of the weavers was able to weave the original Kente  patterns anymore. These patterns date back to the 12th century. Symbolism is woven into the patterns that represent historical events and show the qualities of the wearers and the skills of the weavers. When it became known that unique patterns were no longer known to that generation of weavers, the king called three of them and ordered them  to search for what had been lost. The three weavers went on a journey and arrived in Bonwiri,  where the guilds of weavers gave them three pieces of Kente cloth with the almost lost patterns, these three pieces of fabric bear the name SESEA

SESEA

Inspired by the story;  the symbolism, beauty and craftsmanship of the Kente fabric we have adopted the name SESEA for our organization. We focus on traditional products made with craftsmanship. In this way we want to introduce the world to these values and support the makers in the revaluation of their craft. Because these products are often made from local products, we also promote carrying capacity for the preservation and safeguarding of biodiversity.  We work with local communities and producers. In this way, SESEA hopes to contribute to the possible transition to a sustainable and fair economy.
